Family bonding interventions are a critical component of rehabilitative corrections, supporting social stability, emotional development, and post-release reintegration. Incarceration often disrupts parental identity, marital relationships, and intergenerational emotional ties, resulting in trauma, stigma, and social isolation. This paper evaluates the psychological rationale and effectiveness of structured family bonding programs in prisons, including family visitation frameworks, parental training workshops, trauma-informed counseling, therapeutic mediation, and digital communication systems. A new Family Reintegration Support Model (FRSM) is proposed to highlight how healthy family attachment reduces recidivism, improves emotional regulation, and strengthens community relationships.
